Program Description
Children's Choice Pre-K program provides a safe and nurturing environment where children learn through a unique thematic based curriculum. Each day, the teachers introduce and present our topic related to our theme. Our thematic units place a strong emphasis on science, art, social studies, literature, math and creative play. Children will explore and discover in our center based classroom. Music will be introduced through a variety of activities. We provide an atmosphere in which a child can grow in self worth, respect for others, self discipline, responsibility, curiosity and a delight in learning. Our teacher-student ratio is 1 to 10.
Our thematic units include: Recycling, Weather, Insects, Bats and Owls, Native Americans, Antarctica and Arctic, Rain Forest, Dinosaurs, Arizona Desert, Space, Pirates, the Ocean, China, and Chinese New Year Parade, Mexico and Cinco de Mayo, Celebrations and a Disco Party. We will begin the day with our theme and extend the theme into our art, science, social studies, creative play, literature, puzzles and music. Throughout our daily activities; numbers and letter recognition will be incorporated in our themes, along with beginning letter sounds and math concepts.
Our centers evolve and change with our units. Some of the centers the children can visit throughout the day include: Blocks and Building, Discovery (science), Art, Library, Dramatic Play, Hands-on Math, Puzzles and more.
Our Staff
Our curriculum was designed with two teachers in each class room which allows us to give your children individual instruction. The staff at Children's Choice has been part of our team for over 15+ years. The longevity of our staff makes Children's Choice a stable environment for your children. Their years of experience, enthusiam, character, nurturing and knowledge has awarded our Pre-K with a unique, high quality program.
About Children's Choice
Children's Choice Pre-K program follows the Scottsdale Unified School District calendar.
We are a full-day program, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Early care is available if needed.
Our program is held on the campus of Sequoya Elementary School. Our address is 11808 N. 64th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
The after-school program, Project S.A.F.E., is also a part of Children's Choice and is available for Pre-K students from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
